During our study of the Renaissance, we learned about how Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on his back for TWO years! We taped paper under the kids' desks, and they painted while lying on their backs. It wasn't too long before the kids began to appreciate what Michelangelo had to go through. "It's dripping on me!" "This is hard!" and "My arm hurts!" were phrases that started being said before too long. Their finished paintings are in the hall for you to come take a look at. =)
